American Family Association: Support President Trump’s Common-Sense Approach to Gender
New HHS Memo Recommends That Government Adopt Official Policy to Define Gender as Male or Female Only
TUPELO, Miss.—The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a memo that recommends the government adopt an official policy that will define gender as male or female only, The Federalist reported this week.
This is a common-sense approach to gender, says the American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net), and Christians should urge President Donald Trump to support the HHS policy recommendation that government apply a scientific and standard definition of gender.
In an Action Alert today to its more than 1 million friends and supporters, AFA shared that the HHS memo states, “Sex means a person’s status as male or female based on immutable biological traits identifiable by or before birth. The sex listed on a person’s birth certificate, as originally issued, shall constitute definitive proof of a person’s sex unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence.”
“Under President Barack Obama’s administration,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon, “HHS and numerous other federal programs abandoned God’s definition of gender and began recognizing at least 72 personal, made-up pronouns for sexual identity, none of which were grounded in supportable science. Under this wise approach, gone will be his reformist government procedures and policies embracing a head-spinning mass of sexual orientations. AFA strongly supports this return to common sense by President Trump and HHS.”
The suggested email from AFA to President Trump and Secretary Azar states: “I strongly support the government adopting an official policy that will define gender as male or female only. It is time for common sense to return to federal programs and eliminate the so-called ‘sexual orientations’ that were never scientifically, genetically or morally based. I encourage you to adopt the recommendations of the Department of Health and Human Services to apply a scientific and standard definition of gender.”
In similar news, a newly created group of Christian individuals who left the LGBTQ lifestyle is organizing a “Freedom March” in Los Angeles on Nov. 4. In an effort to provide community for and public awareness of those who have shed their LGBTQ identity to follow Jesus Christ, other marches will be planned in additional cities. The first march was held in Washington D.C in May. The marches also provide former LGBTQ individuals a chance to share their stories, including Pulse Nightclub survivor Luis Javier Ruiz, who is planning a Freedom March in Orlando next year.
