As America loses its’ biblical worldview, Trail Life USA promotes a strong Christian foundation for boys

‘These young men will become a generation of biblically-bold, courageous men who will not only stand against the rising tide of culture, but will turn back the tide itself’

GREENVILLE, S.C.— Famed polltaker George Barna recently released a dire warning for America — most Americans blend their beliefs to create “a customized worldview” that is far from biblical as the country is in a spiritual “crisis.” Citing research conducted by the Cultural Research Center, Barna claimed that overall worldview for a large percentage of Americans is leaning towards syncretism, or a combination of the eight most predominate worldviews.

Barna stated, “When you have a nation of 255 million adults and another 80 million children who are choosing bits and pieces from many different worldviews, and they come up with their own personalized, customized way of thinking and living, that’s much more difficult [for the church] to combat because every person, in essence, requires a different strategy.” This is especially important for the future of America’s children, considering that only 2% of U.S. parents with children under the age of 13 have a biblical worldview, according to Barna.

Mark Hancock, CEO of Trail Life USA (TrailLifeUSA.com), the premier national Christian character development organization for young men, commented on this disturbing revelation, stating, “The reality is that boys need godly men to grow to be godly men. That is the pattern. From creation, the Bible tells the story of how God has used men and women wholly surrendered to him to turn the tides of cultures and nations.”

Trail Life is dedicated to raising up godly boys of character with a strong Christian worldview. Trail Life’sSix Essential Concepts for a Christian Worldview” highlights the foundational Christian beliefs promoted to Troops. The concepts include Truth, Creation, Human Dignity, Family, Stewardship, and Providence.

Hancock continued, “It excites me that through the ministry of Trail Life USA, more than 15,000 men of character and conviction have come together in churches across America to step up in unprecedented ways to raise a remnant of courageous young men who, through service and outdoor adventure, are learning to live their faith, honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and stand confidently grounded on an established Christian worldview. These young men will become a generation of biblically-bold, courageous men who will not only stand against the rising tide of culture, but will turn back the tide itself.

“God is moving and our ranks are growing. In the past two months, more than 2,500 men in communities across America have stepped up to band together and make a difference. I urge all men of God: count yourself among them.”

Trail Life recently launched a comprehensive Christian worldview campaign to provide Troops with clear examples of men throughout history who personified a Christian worldview. Looking at historical figures such as Dietrich Bonhoeffer, William Wilberforce, and George Muller, the Christian worldview campaign identifies these key men of God and how they changed the world for Christ in their various fields and endeavors. The campaign will also address additional men of faith, such as Theodore Roosevelt, Harry Hoosier, George Washington, Eric Liddell, Hudson Taylor, Booker T. Washington, and Alvin York.

Trail Life’s unique approach is garnering attention from families across the nation. Trail Life has grown by over 12,000 new Troop members in 2022 alone. In just the last month, over 500 individuals have reached out for information on starting a Trail Life Troop, and more than 30 new Troops have been chartered in the past 30 days. With Trail Life’s success in growing to over 40,000 members in under ten years, boys and men are building meaningful relationships, growing in character, developing in leadership, and just having fun in the great outdoors.

Trail Life USA has received praise from some of the top Christian voices today, including Focus on the Family, Franklin Graham, James Dobson, Mike Huckabee, Alex and Stephen Kendrick, Family Life, Promise Keepers, the American Family Association, and many others.
