Dan Celia: Dysfunction in Washington; Term Limits May Be Our Only Hope for Real Leadership

October 7, 2020

PHILADELPHIA—Nationally syndicated host and biblical investing authority Dan Celia pointed out today how certain people in Washington D.C. believe they are above the law and emphasized the importance of term limits in order to restore any hope of genuine leadership.

“As we get ready for a VP debate tonight, it is hard to believe that no one will be talking about the one fact that President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and one has to assume Joe Biden, knew about the entire Russia hoax and that it was going to be their ace in the hole to get rid of President Trump,” said Celia. “All of this is coming to light as former CIA director, John Brennan, calls it a disgrace that this information is, as he put it, ‘being selectively released.’

“Over a year ago President Trump gave permission to Attorney General Barr to declassify all the information coming out regarding the Russia hoax with no selective declassifications. Of course, Attorney General Barr is using his own judgment as to what to release and when. Now, Brennan is worried about their many countless lies.

“All of this exposes what is wrong with politics and everything that is wrong with the cesspool of Washington D.C. where a man like General Flynn can go to jail for lying to the FBI, yet Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, John Brennan and many others have lied to Congress under oath multiple times. The thing that outrages the American people is that all of them are above the law; everybody knows that none of them will be held to any level of accountability whatsoever. Think of just the lies that came from these people under oath during the Trump impeachment proceedings. The ambassadors and federal officials that lied during those proceedings should be held accountable. Yet it’s all irrelevant because they’re all above the law.”

“If, as it’s been pronounced for generations, the Constitution of the United States is the Supreme Law of the United States, empowered with sovereign authority of the people, by the framers and their consent of the legislatures of the states, then it is the source of all government powers, and it also provides important limitations on government that protect the fundamental rights of United States citizens. If this is all true, and I believe it is, how is it that we the people can lose our freedoms and protections with such a Constitution that empowers the people with sovereign authority? In my opinion, it can only be because the people of America themselves don’t understand the authority they have been given, or maybe they don’t know where to begin to exercise the authority that the framers have given us.

“The dysfunction in Washington continues to be so overwhelming that it is difficult for the average person to even comprehend how bad it has become. I believe that the dysfunction in Washington is nothing more than an effect of the cause, and the cause is very plainly and clearly nothing more than a lack of leadership.

“I think that one could do an incredible case study and write textbooks on what a lack of leadership can do to a society, organization, and governments. These lawmakers are void of any leadership skills and abilities. Congress ought to authorize a case study explaining what can happen when leadership is nonexistent and what can happen when leadership is only concerned about their own personal well-being. What happens when leadership only cares about one thing, and one thing alone, and that is maintaining their so-called leadership position.

“The biggest problem with our elected officials is they consider themselves leaders even though they have never led, they have no abilities to lead, and they have no understanding of what it takes to lead. They, our so-called leaders, have the title only, but they believe somehow that the title empowers them to be able to lead.

“We will never have leadership in Washington until we have term limits, even though I have always been against term limits and have said we have existing term limits called the voting booth. The problem now is that we don’t exercise that right. We need to start exercising the term limits that our founding fathers gave us, but I have now come to the realization that that term limit we’ve had from the beginning is not going to be exercised, and therefore, there must be mandatory term limits that the American people must demand. It may be our only hope for any real leadership in our future.”
