PHILADELPHIA—Nationally syndicated host and biblical investing authority Dan Celia talks today about the presidential debate tonight and Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination, and how America has strayed so far from the Constitution.
“Well tonight we’ll see Joe Biden and President Trump squaring off for the first time, and maybe the last time,” said Dan Celia. “I don’t know if there needs to be another presidential debate. What good does it do when millions of voters have already voted? They don’t have a chance to change their minds.
“By the time we get around to a second debate there’s going to be millions more who will have already voted. I think our voting process this time around is so damaged that we could very easily never even be close to what the American people really want, or what they stand for.
“In addition, the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, and assembly, just to name a few, and it actually forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and restricting an individual’s religious practices. Congress has no right to ask Judge Barrett to explain her religion or her convictions pertaining to it. Instead, the Democrats questioning her will allow their far-left ideology to drive their relentless inquisition.
“As I think about the debates coming up, the questioning of Judge Barrett during the confirmation hearings, and the election—how in the world have we gotten so far from truth? Do you remember during the first term of the Clinton administration when the media back then decided that character didn’t matter and it shouldn’t be considered a prerequisite for hiring a president? How did lying, cheating, deception, corruption, and disseminating inaccuracies in our news become so acceptable? The ideological indoctrination of our school children, the disunity, the disdain for people with opposing views, the love of Communism, Socialism, Marxism, and the loss of the ability to decipher the fact that everything being ‘free’ means everything is taxed and that the government has social control over everything and everybody.
“Now, with the exception of the farm belt, America has lost even its common sense. With that in mind, I have the nerve to ask as we watch all that is going on around us, in this highly politically charged environment, could we try to exercise some God-given discernment and common sense? It’s critical if we want to keep and save the America that we know and love.”
