Dan Celia: Markets Respond Optimistically to the Possibility of a Vaccine

December 9, 2020

PHILADELPHIA—Nationally syndicated host and biblical investing authority Dan Celia expects the United States to begin administering a COVID-19 vaccine before the end of the year.

“The S&P 500 hit a new record high on Tuesday, and that’s good news. The Dow was up, but everything is up-down very slightly. The NASDAQ was slightly negative, and the Dow up slightly as well. It looks like most of the talk this week has been around vaccine information and more government stimulus. That is what will continue to drive any optimism for markets.

“China announced that their COVID vaccine is 86 percent effective and Roche joins Moderna in including an antibody test. I suspect that those who have positive antibodies will not be getting the vaccine, obviously saving those initial dosages of vaccine for those who might be at more risk. Nonetheless, it seems that a vaccine is very likely to come even before the end of this month.

“The UK has begun administering a vaccine, and they are warning people that have ever had an allergic reaction to a vaccine to not get this vaccine. Everybody is watching the UK very carefully, and I suspect that will continue.”
