Dan Celia: Optimism About U.S.-China Trade Will Drive Future Talks and Compromises

PHILADELPHIA—Nationally syndicated host and biblical stewardship authority Dan Celia is discussing this week the optimism surfacing about trade agreements and how putting plans and compromises to paper will be an important step forward.

“We kicked off the beginning of the trading week with a lot of optimism in reference to U.S.-China trade,” Celia said. “As a matter of fact, Vice-Premier Liu He is headed here to have more meetings with Robert Lighthizer and Steve Mnuchin. Their goal is to develop a memorandum of understanding to outline all the things that apparently they have reached compromises on. One of the big issues will continue to be procedure of industrial relations with American corporations. Of course, this goes to the ‘stealing’—for lack of better term—intellectual properties, and research and development of American corporations. That will continue to be a point of contention with the communist regime. Once this memorandum of understanding, though, is put together, we will likely see a meeting, probably not before March 1, but a meeting with President Xi and President Trump. They will be responsible for hammering out the final details.

“Honda pulling out of the Eurozone and the UK is not a good thing,” Celia added. “One of their manufacturing plants is shutting down in the UK, in spite of the fact that we have seen record high jobs UK jobs, despite Brexit worries. That’s the good news. My concern in the Euro zone right now though is that we continue to see a shrinking of surplus. Not to mention HSBC, which did not have a good earnings report due to missed profits. HSBC is the largest bank in the entire Eurozone, and yes, it should give us some cause for concern.”

Celia discusses these and other global and economic headlines on his daily, three-hour program,Financial Issues,” heard on about 650 television and radio stations nationwide and reaching millions more on several television networks. Through the program, writing and daily interactions, Celia, who leads Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries (FISM, www.FinancialIssues.org), has helped people of faith honor God with their finances and be free from a fear of money.
