Dan Celia: Productivity Numbers Even More Exciting than Unemployment Data Today

September 3, 2020

PHILADELPHIA—Nationally syndicated host and biblical investing authority Dan Celia says today’s news is very encouraging on the fact that U.S. jobless claims only totaled 881,000, vs. the 950,000 expected.

“First time unemployment claims drop below one million as they dropped below 900,000,” Celia said. “That is some very exciting news, not to mention continuing claims came down considerably. But the real positive number is the productivity that once again continues to beat expectations and in any thriving economy would be a very good number. I’ve said this many times and I’ll say it again. We will never have growth and we can’t be having growth without strong productivity numbers and it continues to get stronger. Some will say it’s the first-time unemployment claims. But I’ve got to believe that the smart people on Wall Street are much more excited about the productivity number rising 10.1% in the second quarter.”

Celia discusses these and other global and economic headlines on his daily, three-hour Financial Issues program, heard on more than 660 radio stations and several television networks nationwide, including FISM.TV, viewed on several post-cable television platforms and online.
