PHILADELPHIA—Nationally syndicated host and biblical investing authority Dan Celia said today that a new fraud task force would disincentivize hospitals manipulating COVID statistics to influence the elections.
“I think one of the most important things that is coming out this week, and it’s going to be emphasized a great deal by the news media—whether it impacts markets in reality or not is going to be another story, but it certainly seems like it is now—is that cases of COVID are increasing dramatically in a number of states.
“I said last week on the radio to President Trump, though I doubt he was listening, that this can all go away tomorrow. All he needs to do is assign a task force to look into all of the medical facilities, hospitals, medical clinics and the actual reporting and counting of the COVID cases and look into Medicare and Medicaid fraud as a result of these false claims of COVID cases. I can guarantee you that hospitals and medical clinics are going to all of a sudden be disincentivized to join the party of trying to influence the elections. Just announce the task force and the investigations, and that should get them extremely concerned. And then we’ll start to see the reality of what is actually happening as far as COVID goes.
“We have some economic news coming out. I don’t think any of this is going to impact the markets much. The big number, of course, is on Thursday when we get the GDP number. This is the first look at third quarter GDP. It is, in all likelihood, going to be up over 30 percent. That will certainly be a record-breaking uptick for GDP. But of course, we saw a record breaking down tick in GDP earlier, so this is just getting us back on track once again.”
