Denver Area YFC continues to go the distance for Denver’s young people
February 22, 2022
DENVER— Youth For Christ (www.yfc.net) is celebrating God’s work as hundreds of young people are meeting Jesus through real relationships with Denver Area YFC (DAYFC) staff and volunteers. With a legacy of over sixty-five years of effective youth ministry in Denver, DAYFC has differentiated itself by its multifaceted approach to meeting the needs of Denver area youth. In juvenile justice centers, inner-city neighborhoods, and on school campuses, YFC staff and volunteers see the hope and potential in every young person.
Ken Allen, executive director of Denver Area YFC, commented on their growth and success in reaching young people for Christ.
Allen stated, “We celebrate what God continues to do in and through the ministry of Denver Area Youth For Christ! Over 250 high school students regularly participate in weekly YFC Campus Life breakfasts and 152 young people have engaged in authentic Christ-sharing relationships with YFC leaders.”
With over 20 ministry sites throughout the Denver metro area, Denver Area YFC continues to reach young people on campuses, juvenile justice centers, as well as teen parents through their ministry Parent Life. To continue keeping this amazing ministry alive, Allen and the teamengages the community of believers nationwide to join in the ministry of YFC.
To bring more awareness of what DAYFC has accomplished, Allen and the rest of the DAYFC team recently completed their annual virtual 5K run. Designed to help raise funds as well as build awareness, the virtual 5K encourages supporters to run or walk 5 kilometers all around the world.
Allen commented, “Denver YFC continues to go the distance for Denver’s young people and the Virtual 5K is a great example. Supporters could run, walk or bike (or get creative!) from wherever they are—anywhere in the world—and bring awareness to our cause. We value however they wanted to help and support our mission to reach the youth in the Denver area!”

YFC chapters impact thousands of communities across the nation, seeking out and serving youth from all walks of life. Young people are silently struggling through a wide variety of challenging issues—and through the YFC ministry God empowers, they see the living power of a loving God. YFC trains its leaders in a proven, relational ministry model called 3Story®, which encourages staff and volunteers to be good news while also sharing the stories of the Good News of Jesus. It involves building relationships through the ups and downs of everyday life to lead people to Christ.
YFC has been a pillar of missional ministry since 1944, when the Rev. Billy Graham served as YFC’s first full-time staff member. Since then, Youth For Christ has continued to be both a rural and urban ministry on mission, and it is always about the message of Jesus. YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement. Youth For Christ operates in over 100 nations and has over 130 chapters that impact communities across America.
