SES President Dr. Land:Vote Your Christian Values

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This election day, many American citizens will be given the opportunity to make a difference in our country—by voting.  Dr. Richard Land, President of Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES, www.ses.edu), advises, “Today may be the most important presidential election day in the history of the nation. The great thing about democracy is that if you lose an election, you can come back the next election with a better argument and win, thus reversing the results of the last election. However, some elections are so important that once the country has voted, there is no turning back from the decisions made. This is just such an election.

“We as a people will be making decisions for our children and our grandchildren this election day—and deciding in what kind of country they will live and raise their children for at least the next generation, and maybe the next half-century.

“So do your duty and vote, and when you do, vote your biblical convictions and beliefs and your Christian values. When you have done that, you have done your duty, and the result is up to our Heavenly Father—to whom we should all be praying fervently for divine intervention.

“I had the privilege of praying at a Trump rally this past Sunday. I prayed the same prayer I have been praying for months: ‘Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of being born in this great and marvelous country. Father, we throw ourselves on Your mercy. Forgive us for the terrible sins of our countrymen. We know we deserve of Your judgment, but we plead for mercy, and we beg You to send a heaven-sent spiritual revival and awakening and ultimately a Reformation. We promise that we will give You the glory and the honor for any and all victories won for the cause of Your Kingdom. We pray these things in the name of Jesus our Savior, Your Son, the coming King. Amen.’”
