Fellowship of Christian Athletes Welcomes New Executive Vice President of Marketing

Justin Stowell Was Involved in Leadership with FCA in College and Led Marketing and Communication Efforts at Cru Global

KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.org) has named a new Executive Vice President of Marketing.

Justin Stowell formerly served as Director of Marketing & Communications for Cru Global, and the Orlando native studied Organizational Communications at the University of Central Florida, where he was also involved in leadership with FCA. In fact, he said he credits FCA with moving his faith from his head to his heart and helping him build that faith.

“I am so excited for this opportunity to be a part of what God is already doing in the ministry of FCA,” Stowell said. “For my wife, Mandi, and I, FCA at our alma mater (UCF) played a significant role in our spiritual growth, our leadership development and even in how we met each other! The intersection of faith and sport falls squarely within the passions God created in me, and I can’t wait to be a part of helping lead this next season of ministry at FCA.”

Justin and Mandi met at UCF, where she was also involved in ministry. They have been married for 10 years and have a toddler son, Jack. Stowell grew up in a Christian family, was active in sports in high school and enjoys the outdoors. He was also involved in leadership for the college ministry at his home church in Orlando and first became involved with Campus Crusade, now Cru, through its magazine, working to digitize the content. While leading marketing efforts at Cru, Stowell worked to bring many marketing functions in-house, and clarify and develop the Cru brand. He supervised 24 full-time staff, six part-time staff and outside contractors, and managed up to 60 projects simultaneously.

At FCA, Stowell will oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies, digital communications, brand management, and content and asset management, as well as staff tools and resources development, management and training. His post began March 1.

“All of us at Fellowship of Christian Athletes are thrilled to welcome Justin and Mandi to the FCA family at the FCA Support Center,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “Over the past several years, FCA’s work in marketing, communications and events has grown exponentially, and we look forward to serving our more than 1,700 staff members worldwide through these important strategies and initiatives.”
