‘Gun-Toting, Bible-Clinging Deplorable’ Todd Starnes Part of 2018 Truth for a New Generation Lineup with Dr. Alex McFarland

Starnes Joins Fox News Colleague Lauren Green, Faith Investigator J. Warner Wallace, Apologist Josh McDowell and More at March 23-24 Event at Life Community Church in North Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C.—At the start of every “Todd Starnes Show” on Fox News radio, the bold-voiced announcer, backed up by a catchy country tune, introduces the host as the nation’s “favorite gun-toting, Bible-clinging deplorable American.”

Starnes takes pride in this “title,” especially as he engages listeners and readers with stories of threatened religious liberty, over-the-top political correctness and the “micro-aggressions” that offend “snowflakes.”

Over his successful career at Fox, Starnes is a voice to be reckoned with.

The best-selling author, broadcaster, writer, reporter and commentator will be part of the 2018 Truth for a New Generation (TNG) conference organized by religion and culture expert and author Dr. Alex McFarland. The event is set for March 23-24, 2018, at Life Community Church, 4900 W. Wendover Ave., Jamestown (the greater Greensboro area) in North Carolina.

“Todd Starnes brings issues of religious freedom and the protection of the nation’s heritage in front of the American people like no one else,” said McFarland, who is also Director for Christian Worldview and Apologetics at the Christian Worldview Center of North Greenville University in Greenville, S.C. “We’re honored to welcome him to the Truth for a New Generation apologetics conference this spring, as Todd puts today’s pressing issues in the faces of all Americans in an entertaining and enlightening way, and truly makes them think.”

The popular Fox News commentator and columnist is heard daily on hundreds of radio stations around the nation. Starnes also makes regular appearances on Fox News Channel, including on “Fox & Friends,” and on Fox Business Network. He is the author of several books, including “The Deplorables’ Guide to Making America Great Again,” “Dispatches from Bitter America” and “God Less America,” and is a frequent speaker. He recently debuted the three-hour, daily “Todd Starnes Show” on Fox News Radio and has covered a number of high-profile stories, taking him from Wall Street to the White House.

With recent headlines such as “Producer of ‘Forever My Girl’ Wanted to Make Movie for the Heartland,” “Catholic Diocese Will Ban Student Athletes Who Take a Knee During National Anthem” and “Comic Book Convention Bans Kevin Sorbo Over Friendship with Hannity,” Starnes’ syndicated column and blog are read by millions.

Starnes has been at Fox News for more than a decade, and pollster George Barna included him as one of the top media influencers for evangelical Christians in the 2016 presidential election. Starnes has covered some of the biggest stories of the past 10 years—from presidential campaigns to the culture wars—interviewing an array of newsmakers and celebrities. His annual Fox News Radio Christmas show has become a national yuletide tradition featuring some of the biggest names in contemporary Christian music.

He is the recipient of a regional Radio Television Digital News Association’s Edward R. Murrow Award and an Associated Press Mark Twain Award for storytelling. In 2014, he was awarded the National Religious Broadcaster’s Board of Directors Award. He is the recipient of First Liberty Institute’s Defender of the Faith Award, Vision America’s National Hero of Faith Award, Bott Radio Network’s Watchman on the Wall Award, and Pacific Justice Institute’s Light in Media Award.

Starnes is a frequent speaker at churches, Christian conferences, and Christian universities. He has delivered messages at the Reagan Ranch, the Billy Graham Training Center and Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit.

The theme of the McFarland’s 2018 Truth for a New Generation conference is “Save a Nation” and will also feature the following speakers:

This year’s conference will also feature a screening of the American Family Association feature-length film, “The God Who Speaks,” for which McFarland was a contributor, as well as a VIP “Gold Circle” seating, which will allow participants to interact with the speakers.
