iVoterGuide’s Comprehensive Research Shows a
GOP Underdog Running a True Grassroots Campaign Against
an Entrenched Democratic Establishment Candidate

October 23, 2020

ORLANDO, Fla. — Many Americans are already voting at local polling sites or by mail—and many remain on the fence about their choices at both the federal and state levels. But in Florida’s 10th Congressional District, there is a dramatic difference between the two candidates seeking a nod this fall from constituents.

iVoterGuide’s data on two candidates in the race for Florida’s CD-10 reveal a clear chasm of demarcation between political agendas, similar to the stark differences between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden,” says iVoterGuide’s president Debbie Wuthnow.

Attorney Vennia Francois (R)—a native-born Floridian, raised in Orlando—is relying on those who share her faith and value of human life at all stages to engage and join in the effort to secure elected representation for the defenseless. Francois is also one of two dozen Republican African-American candidates seeking a congressional seat.

Val Demings (D), born in Jacksonville, Florida, had a distinguished career in law enforcement and was the first woman to serve as chief of the Orlando Police Department. The African-American representative is seeking her third term in Congress. Her commitment to protecting life and property, however, lies in stark contrast to supporters who devalue the lives of the unborn—the polar opposite of her GOP challenger.

Said Francois in response to a question posed by iVoterGuide, “The centerpiece of my belief is placing God first—and as the Scriptures share, to love my neighbor as myself. What that means to me is demonstrating integrity, honesty, perseverance, and the greatest of these core values, love. It is my faith that guides and sustains me with hope for a better day for myself, families, and for our great country.” (Demings was unresponsive to iVoterGuide’s survey invitation.)

Francois also told iVoterGuide, “The intent of our Founding Fathers was to protect religion. The phrase ‘separation of church and state’ is not found in the Constitution. However, it is the interpretation of the establishment clause by the Supreme Court that the government must maintain a neutrality toward religion. It reinforces our legal right to freely live out our faith without fear of coercion from the government.”

Each candidate is backed by an all-star list of endorsers and donors, although from very different perspectives and values.Endorsements and select donation data from high-profile individuals and entities are key indicators of who wields control of each candidate on life and liberty-affirming issues and how each is likely to legislate if elected.

“As Floridians head to early voting in person, we at iVoterGuide encourage all voters to take a close look at the extensive candidate information on iVoterGuide.com, especially data on the candidates for Florida’s Congressional District 10,” said Wuthnow.

TheFlorida iVoterGuide website delivers facts to voters who want to make an informed decision about all candidates seeking election. The turnout for the Congressional District 10 clash may significantly impact dozens of down-ballot races, including those for Florida Senate and many other Florida House seats.

“What candidates say is one thing—what they actually do is another,” says Wuthnow. “iVoterGuide looks not only at the candidates’ words, but also at how they have used power entrusted to them by the citizens.”

Floridians are using iVoterGuide to determine which of the 296 evaluated Florida candidates have defended the United States Constitution and the principles of life, liberty and freedom to exercise personal responsibility. Florida residents also use iVoterGuide’s data to identify those backed by entities and individuals determined to restrict the vast freedoms and opportunities in America.

Many Americans recognize how valuable the information is within iVoterGuide before casting their ballots. One user even remarked, “I just found out about iVoterGuide.com. I wish I had known sooner! I have used it as a viable resource for as long as I can remember.”

“Voters are in the midst of the most important election of our lifetime,” says Wuthnow. “iVoterGuide shows voters how candidates can be expected to use their power. The only remaining question is, ‘How will voters use theirs?’”
