CHARLOTTE, N.C.— In a time when so many things are constantly changing, a return to the traditional roles of teaching and parenting is even more essential. Recent reports show that LGBTQ+ media producers are actively working behind the scenes to introduce more LGBTQ+ characters and plots into children’s programming, taking advantage of the susceptibility of young minds. According to a Gallup Poll, only 5.6% of Americans identify as being part of the LGBTQ+ community. This surge of “representation” from the radical left displays an ulterior motive aimed at children riveted on movies, cartoons, videos and television shows.

Furthermore, a recent New York Times article has been called into question by concerned parents as it praises the work of Justine Ang Fonte, a New York based teacher who recently led a “pornography literacy” lecture for her students. Arguing that the lesson was meant to “teach students how to critically assess what they see on the screen,” according to Style reporter Valeriya Safronova, Fonte stands by her controversial methods, even amidst her resignation to the Dalton School as a response to parent outrage. Incidentally, Dalton states that it harbors no negativity towards Fonte, even as many parents continue to complain about the liberal topics forced upon their students without the parents’ consent.

For Dr. Brian Huffling, Professor of Philosophy and Theology at Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES, www.ses.edu), the response to the latest propaganda from the liberal agenda is clear.

“The recent examples of the educators’ attempt to sexualize our children as young as kindergarten and elementary school is a despicable attempt to indoctrinate them into the godless, immoral abyss of the liberal left,” Dr. Huffling said. “It should be a wakeup call for parents and, well, everyone. Such issues as homosexuality and transgenderism are counter to the objective human nature as there is an objectiveness to male and female.

“The left’s denial of the basic human nature is born out of such movements as postmodernism,” Dr. Huffling added. “At SES we argue that humans have an objective nature and that postmodernism is bankrupt. It is time to stop letting the left abuse our children.”

SES will soon host an important event, “Awaken: Thinking Well about Wokism, Social Justice, and Racial Reconciliation,” on Saturday, August 7, beginning at 1 p.m. It will be livestreamed. Registration for this key SES event is now open at this link.

Earlier in 2021, SES released a new video revealing inconsistencies with today’s “woke” ideology—and noting the importance for Christians to proclaim and defend the true and the good. The SES video, titled “Are You Woke or Awake?,” has been well received on social media.

The mission of SES is to train men and women, based on the inerrant and infallible written Word of God, for the evangelization of the world and defense of the historic Christian faith. SES offers the 15-hour Certificate in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.SES believes that one must minister to the present generation according to its needs—and to do so with truth and power. Students need training in the ethical, political, and economic implications of the unchanging Faith “once delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). The PPE can also be used as a concentration within most master’s degrees (excluding Master of Arts in Religion). The combination of PPE training and classical seminary education can be a potent one in combating the new heresies and false doctrines rooted in a secularist, progressivist worldview.
