Voters Encouraged to Fully Research Senate Candidates in 2022 as Legislators Influence the Culture
December 13, 2021
TUPELO, Miss. — In a move applauded by conservatives across the country, the Senate voted to repeal President Biden’s federal Covid-19 vaccine mandate for private businesses. Republicans brought the repeal to the Senate floor under the “Congressional Review Act,” which allows Congress to review presidential executive orders. One senator commented that the mandate was an example of the “heavy hand of government” hurting businesses.
“Wednesday’s bi-partisan vote to repeal vaccine mandates for private businesses illustrates the importance of the U.S. Senate in stopping government overreach,” stated Rob Chambers, Executive Vice President of American Family Association Action (AFA Action), the governmental affairs affiliate of the American Family Association (AFA, afa.net). AFA Action recently acquired iVoterGuide which is the premier Christian voting guide with honest, up-to-date information covering thousands of candidates nationwide across the ballot.
While this move seems to be a win for the Republican party, many are concerned that it won’t be enough to overturn the mandate, with the Democrat-controlled House not expected to take up the measure and President Biden likely to veto the bill if cleared by Congress.
For those concerned by this possibility, iVoterGuide, encourages citizens to use this as motivation to better research candidates up for any office or election.
“With 34 U.S. Senate seats and all 435 U.S. House seats up for election in 2022, iVoterGuide is the place to turn to learn how your candidates might vote—and whether they will advocate for big government or defend individual liberties,” stated Debbie Wuthnow, president of iVoterGuide (ivoterguide.com).
In 2020 alone, iVoterGuide covered federal elections in all 50 states as well as statewide and legislative races in 21 states, researched over 8,000 candidates, and educated over 3.5 million voters across the country. With AFA Action acquiring iVoterGuide, coverage of statewide and legislative races will increase from 21 to 37 states by the 2022 midterm elections. Also, research will increase from 8,000 to over 12,000 candidates while aiming to grow the base of educated voters from 3.5 million to over 5 million.
iVoterGuide is known today for its accuracy and integrity in researching and evaluating candidates on the ballot. It impacts elections by equipping Christians to vote wisely and to be good stewards of their citizenship. The core issues that drive the research and scoring of candidates are right to life, religious liberty, national defense, health care, the economy, and border security.
