‘The outcome of this election provides an opportunity to lean on God, to be thankful for the good that has been accomplished, and to remember that He knew the results of this election long ago’

November 21, 2022

TUPELO, Miss. — As Americans across the country prepare their Thanksgiving traditions and reflect on what they are thankful for, iVoterGuide (ivoterguide.com), the nation’s premier Christian voting guide, reminds Christian conservatives to be grateful for the many blessings they have, despite the results of the 2022 midterm elections.

For the recent election, iVoterGuide researched over 13,000 candidates and was used by nearly seven million voters across the nation, helping to equip concerned citizens with the facts about the candidates and issues so they could be informed voters.

“The last two years haven’t been easy,” iVoterguide President Debbie Wuthnow commented. “We’ve endured rising debt, runaway inflation, open borders, and unprecedented attacks on our freedoms. Public polling leading up to Election Day gave conservatives hope that the seeming low approval numbers of the current administration and the anger of parents at the education establishment would bring an overwhelming wave of conservative victories… but that did not happen nationwide. This is the time to realize that our plans and timelines are not perfectly aligned with God’s sovereign plan. But as we await results from various races, there are glimmers of hope from parts of the country.

“We should not be overly discouraged — or encouraged — by the outcome of any one election, but trust our Sovereign God with the overall plan, and we each must resolve to continue to carry on our duties as Christians and holders of Judeo-Christian values. As John Quincy Adams said during his seventeen-year fight in the House of Representatives to end slavery, ‘Duty is ours; results are God’s.’

“We continue to run the race God has set before us, even when victory does not come easily or quickly. John Quincy Adams saw his race as a marathon, not a sprint, and he died before seeing the final outcome. But he could rest in his faith that God holds the results… not just of every election, but every single act of obedience done in His name. God calls us to be good stewards of all that He entrusts to us, which includes voting wisely.

“The outcome of this election provides an opportunity to lean on God, to be thankful for the good that has been accomplished by conservatives who never gave up — like the overturning of Roe v. Wade — and to remember that He knew the results of this election long ago. Stay in the fight, and be comforted in these truths as we wait for His eternal kingdom to be established.”
