Join the Trail! Parents and Boys Flock to Trail Life USA With Over 101 New Troops in 2021

Trail Life USA Includes Outdoor Scouting Adventures For Boys with a Distinct Difference—a Foundation in Christ

August 23, 2021

GREENVILLE, S.C.Trail Life USA (TrailLifeUSA.com) offers similar outdoor adventures to traditional Scouting with one significant difference – Trail Life Troops provide leadership, character, and personal growth within a Christian framework. Trail Life is proud to promote healthy, Christian values in their quest to encourage boys to be boys, build meaningful relationships, and just have fun in the great outdoors.

This is why Trail Life has grown by over 100 new Troops in 2021, in addition to the 70% new growth year over year and the 30% growth over 2019 numbers, expanding the total membership to over 30,000. In just the last month, over 300 individuals have reached out for information on starting a Trail Life Troop. Boys and their families are flocking to join a Scouting program that is set on biblical values and puts the needs of their sons first. The Christian model and a solid set of biblical values that is cemented into the Trail Life USA organization has proven time and time again to produce godly men of character. This is especially important considering the trying times families have been going through in the recent year, with a global pandemic and constant switching of school programming.

“It really has been an amazing year!” said Trail Life CEO Mark Hancock. “Rather than hunkering down in fear and creating programs for boys to stay safe indoors, our volunteers understood the needs of boys, realized the outdoors was the safest place for boys to be, and created events to safely meet a boy’s need for rough-and-tumble adventure, connection, camaraderie, and spiritual growth. Troops across the nation got creative and held meetings outdoors in parks and parking lots. They planned exciting events and outdoor adventures to engage boys. Parents who were looking for opportunities to get their boys out of the house appreciated our approach.”

Trail Life highlights Adventure, Character, and Leadership. The Trail LifeMission is to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.

“The reality is that boys need the examples and leadership of heroic men,” said Hancock. “Scripture, history, and personal experiences defy the untethered aims of culture and make clear the significant benefits of godly men who act as traditional masculine role models for boys. Boys need a place where freshly-caught fish sizzle on crackling fires they build, stars light the night sky they sleep under, and pocket knives whittle the wildlife they see on Troop adventures. Character is built in adventure. Leadership thrives in the open. Manhood develops best outdoors where God intended.”

Trail Life offers a BSA Achievement Credit for boys leaving the Scouting program. A system of credit and recognition of ranks and achievements earned or received through Scouting are credited to similar badges and ranks in Trail Life. Boys can transfer to an organization that supports their Christian worldview without sacrificing the accomplishments they earned.
