Ancient deities intend to ‘use the new generation to cast out the Christian faith and bring Judeo-Christian civilization to an end,’ says Jonathan Cahn

NEW YORK — Is it possible that the ancient deities that ruled Babylon and Mesopotamia — the very same ones who were ousted by the rise of Christianity — have returned? How could this happen? What does this mean for America? And what can the Church do to combat this onslaught?
New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Cahn has dedicated his life to uncovering ancient mysteries found in biblical texts, first with his critically acclaimed book “The Harbinger” and recently with his blockbuster feature film “The Harbingers of Things to Come.” Now, Cahn is back with his most cataclysmic work to date — “The Return of the Gods.” Since the book’s release, “The Return of the Gods” hit No. 2 on the New York Times Bestsellers List — Cahn’s highest ranking ever — as well as No. 2 in the Hardcover Frontlist Nonfiction category on the Publishers Weekly bestsellers list, and No. 2 in nonfiction combined on the Wall Street Journal bestsellers list.
In the book, Cahn reveals that the gods that have come into the modern world have transformed America from a Christian nation to a pagan one, and are the same evil gods that were part of the apostacy and falling away of ancient Israel. Cahn warns that these gods never die. It was the entrance of Christianity more than two thousand years ago that overcame their reign of terror and sent them into exile. It was the message of the Gospel, of God’s love and forgiveness, that caused the polytheism and pantheism of the Greco-Roman world to give way to the belief in one God, breaking the spell of the gods.
But now they have returned.
Cahn outlines how the Dark Trinity — three specific gods of old — have changed American culture and are working in all the chaos that is taking place, from initiating social upheavals and cultural revolutions to maneuvering politics and world events.
“As the gods had thrived in a pre-Christian age, they would now seek to usher in a post-Christian age,” writes Cahn. “And if the entrance of Christianity brought about the casting out of the gods from Western civilization, then upon their reentering, they would seek to bring about the casting out of Christianity from Western civilization.”
Cahn points out that these ancient gods could only return by casting out that by which they had themselves been cast out: the Spirit of God.
“As the gods had been driven out of the mainstream culture of the ancient world, they would now seek to drive God and those who followed Him out of the mainstream of modern culture,” Cahn writes. “As the gods had once been driven to the margins and shadows of their culture, they would now seek to drive Christians to the margins, to the shadows, to the closets and catacombs of modern culture.”
How would these ancient beings achieve this goal? “They would seek to gain control of the young,” Cahn writes. “And they would do so through the media, television, the internet, and the classroom. At the same time, the gods would attack the transmission of the Christian faith from parent to child and from teacher to student in Christian schools and universities. As they had once been cut off from influencing the young and cast out by a new generation, the gods would now seek to cut off the young from the Christian faith and to use the new generation to cast out the Christian faith and bring Judeo-Christian civilization to an end.”
What can Christians do to combat this onslaught? “The only answer to the gods… is God,” Cahn says. “The powers of the gods can only be overcome by the power of God. The darkness will end, but the light will be forever,” he concludes. “And so as it is written, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, for greater, much greater, is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”
“The Return of the Gods” promises to take readers on a fascinating, unforgettable, and mind-blowing journey that will leave them stunned and with the ability to see the world as they never have before.
