Trail Life CEO: ‘Trail Life is designed to meet a boy’s need for rough-and-tumble adventure, connection, camaraderie, and spiritual growth’

August 2, 2022

GREENVILLE, S.C. Experts agree that boys are suffering in today’s modern culture. With the excess of technology, the indoctrination in schools, and the absence of strong father figures, it’s no surprise that today’s boys are losing the essence of boyhood. This is why Trail Life USA (TrailLifeUSA.com), the largest Christ-centered, boy-focused scout-type organization in the country, provides boys with leadership, character, and personal growth opportunities through outdoor adventure and within a Christian framework — and boys and their families are responding.

Trail Life has grown by more than 6,300 new members in 2022 alone. In just the last month, over 350 individuals have reached out for information on starting a Trail Life Troop and almost 20 new Troops have been formed. Boys and their families are flocking to join a Scouting program that is set on biblical values and puts the needs of their sons first. The Christian model and a solid set of biblical values that is cemented into the Trail Life USA organization has proven time and time again to produce godly men of character. With Trail Life’s success in growing to over 40,000 members in under ten years, boys and men are building meaningful relationships, growing in character, developing in leadership, and just having fun in the great outdoors.

Trail Life is designed to meet a boy’s need for rough-and-tumble adventure, connection, camaraderie, and spiritual growth, and parents are realizing this and enrolling their boys in our Troops like never before,” Trail Life CEO Mark Hancock stated. “The reality is that boys need the examples and leadership of heroic men. Scripture, history, and personal experiences defy the untethered aims of culture and make clear the significant benefits of godly men who act as traditional masculine role models for boys. Boys need a place where freshly caught fish sizzle on crackling fires they build, stars light the night sky they sleep under, and pocket knives whittle the sticks boys collect up during a day of adventure. Character is built through adventure. Manhood develops best outdoors where God intended.”

The Trail Lifemission is to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure. Trail Lifehighlights adventure, character, and leadership in a unique, proven process. The Trail Life USA Proven Process addresses four significant problems that are plaguing boys as they seek to navigate the perilous journey to manhood: they are unappreciated, unguided, ungrounded, and too often, uninspired. The Proven Process is explained in further detail in Trail Life’s latest resource, “Raising Godly Boys.

Hancock commented, “God made boys to be outside. It in their nature to embrace challenge, to rise to the occasion and to overcome. Their God-given drive is to get wet, to get their hands dirty, to climb the tallest tree, and take the next hill. The outdoors — with its wide-open spaces and fresh air — is almost certainly the best place for kids to be. At Trail Life, we not only acknowledge this fact about boys, but encourage them to rise to the challenge and grow into godly men of character.”

The endorsements for the Trail Life USA program continue to pile up. The recent endorsement of the program by Focus on the Family follows many others including: Franklin Graham, James Dobson, Mike Huckabee, Alex and Stephen Kendrick, Family Life, Promise Keepers, the American Family Association and many others.
