Southern Evangelical Seminary Has a New Home!
Move to More Modern Campus Will Propel SES into Another Quarter-Century of Serving Christ and His Church
CHARLOTTE, N.C.—During the next two weeks Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES, www.SES.edu) will be moving into their new home at 15015 Lancaster Highway in the rapidly growing Ballantyne West area of Charlotte, North Carolina. The new two-building 35,000 square feet campus will enable the 26-year old seminary to expand both its resources and technology as it seeks to serve growing numbers of both online and on campus students on an even more centrally located campus in the greater Charlotte area.
“These are exhilarating days for SES,” explained SES president Dr. Richard Land. “Our faculty, staff and students are very excited about our new, modern campus described by one younger alumnus as ‘like a “Googleplex”.’ We are looking forward eagerly to sharing our new home with the entire SES family. In fact, we will be hosting an open house and dedication service on Saturday afternoon, August 4, as we kick off our new schoolyear (check SES.edu for details in coming days). This is an exciting transition for SES and will enable us to reach even more students both here and around the world who will be equipped to more ably defend the faith,” explained Dr. Land. “The new campus will allow for even better state of the art technology to better serve both online and resident students.”
After touring the new campus, SES co-founder Dr. Norman Geisler issued a call for SES supporters to join faculty and staff on August 4 for the dedication and open house, saying, “You will truly be amazed at what God has provided for the next generation of apologists and evangelists.”
Land has also received approval from his fellow trustees that commencing with the fall 2018 semester, students who attend at least 80% of their class sessions in person, rather than online, in a semester will be given a 10 percent tuition discount on their next semester’s tuition.
Everyone at SES is also very excited about the fact that registrations for SES’s annual National Conference on Christian Apologetics are running more than double what they were at this time last year when paid registrations approached 2,000. The 2018 National Conference on Christian Apologetics will focus on the theme of “The God Who Is.” The conference will take place at Calvary Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, Oct. 12-13, where the seminary will welcome top thinkers, scholars, authors, apologists and scientific minds, including Ravi Zacharias.
