Southern Evangelical Seminary Offering New January Class on ‘The Existence of God’

On-Campus and Live-Streaming Course Will Focus on Philosophical and Metaphysical Arguments for God’s Existence

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—A new course later this month at Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES) will focus on the philosophical arguments for the “Existence of God.” Offered both on SES’s new campus and via live-streaming, the class will be taught by well-known author and apologist Dr. Richard G. Howe.

Howe will teach the course as part of SES’s winter module, running Jan. 14-19.

“All of us at Southern Evangelical Seminary are thrilled to have Dr. Richard Howe on campus again for this course that will ask and answer some of the philosophical questions many Christians may have about God,” said SES President and Evangelical leader Dr. Richard Land.

“Existence of God” is an in-depth study of the popular arguments for the existence of God, coupled with the classical metaphysics underlying these arguments and the classical attributes of the existence of God. Upon completion, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of certain aspects of the arguments for the existence of God.

Dr. Richard G. Howe is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and Apologetics at SES and earned a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Arkansas. He speaks and writes widely on philosophy and Christian apologetics, and is the co-author with SES co-founder Dr. Norman L. Geisler of “The Religion of the Force.” He is also a contributor to several books including “I Am Put Here for the Defense of the Gospel: Dr. Norman L. Geisler: A Festschrift in His Honor,” “The Jesus Quest: The Danger from Within,” “The Popular Encyclopedia of Apologetics” and “Reasons for Faith, To Everyone an Answer.”

Howe has had articles published in the “Christian Apologetics Journal,” the “Areopagus Journal,” the “Midwest Christian Outreach Journal” and the “Christian Research Journal.” He has spoken and/or debated in churches and universities in the U.S. and Canada as well as Europe and Africa on issues relating to the defense of the Christian faith. In their free time, Richard and his wife, Rebekah, enjoy international travel.
