Christian Camp Director and Noted Speaker Timotheus Pope Presenting ‘Redemption’ at ‘Jubilee’ on Feb. 27
Feb 8, 2021
PITTSBURGH—Many college students are caught in a cycle of trying to find hope in a chaotic world full of uncertainty. Jesus invites college students to look towards the hope of the Kingdom at the virtual Jubilee Conference 2021: Every Square Inch on Saturday, February 27. The CCO understands that every square inch of life can be redeemed for the glory of God.
At Jubilee, students will be invited into Jesus’ story, breaking down the four-part gospel narrative to discover how every square inch of creation is the Lord’s … including them. Students will leave Jubilee with a vision for their lives, equipped with the tools to transform the world in the name of Jesus Christ.
Hosted by the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO), this annual event – now with a virtual venue make-over – maintains its purpose of answering the call of service to Jesus Christ. “Our lives have changed during the age of COVID-19 — but Jesus has not,” Dan Dupee, former Chairman of the Board for Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO), said.
In addition to offering twenty simultaneous workshops on faith and vocation, Jubilee will host four main event speakers, each presenting on a different aspect of the Gospel. Returning to Jubilee is noted speaker, and author Timotheus Pope, who will present Redemption.
Pope, who serves as the director of Citikidz, a Christian camp near Pittsburgh that aims to transform urban America through a culturally relevant Christian sports camp, is a father of seven and a return speaker to Jubilee.
“Our God is not confined by social distancing,” Dupee, continued. “We are all still called to serve Jesus Christ with our entire lives. In a world full of uncertainty, Jesus invites you to look towards the hope of the kingdom.”
Joining Pope at the Jubilee Conference 2021: Every Square Inch will be scheduled speakers Ashlee Eiland, formation and preaching pastor at Mars Hill Bible Church (Grand Rapids, Michigan), noted speaker and author who will present Creation; Jon Tyson, pastor and church planter (New York City), noted speaker and author who will present Fall; and Tish Harrison Warren, former co-associate rector at Church of the Ascension in Pittsburgh, Pa, noted speaker and author of “Liturgy of the Ordinary” and “Prayer in the Night,” who will present Restoration.
The college and university campus is the most strategic mission field in the world, with only 2% of students being reached with the Gospel. CCO partners with local church congregations to help students feel a sense of belonging. A community is formed between the CCO staff and students, who are invited into the lives of local congregations. Through this community of fellowship, CCO is able to minister to the students in a life-changing way.
