Transformational leadership event set to inspire and equip Christians to better impact community for Christ
February 7, 2022
LOS ANGELES— As all eyes turn towards Los Angeles for football’s favorite Sunday on February 13, Youth For Christ (YFC, www.yfc.net), a pillar of missional ministry since 1944, is celebrating the work being done to invest in young people and youth workers in Los Angeles this month.
Youth For Christ Southern California will partner with like-minded organizations such as Urban Youth Workers Institute, Biola University and many others to host Turn Your Campus, a one-day, transformational training event for students and youth workers in the Los Angeles Metro Area. This virtual event will take place on February 26 and attendees will be inspired and equipped to impact their community for Christ.
The Turn Your Campus project beautifully aligns with YFC Southern California’s focus on mobilizing Christian students and adults to reach young people on their high school or middle school campuses.
YFC Southern California Executive Director Al Siebert stated, “Even during this time of COVID-19, we are blessed to be carriers of the gospel of Jesus to high school kids and middle school kids who don’t know that God loves them and cares for them.”
For the past 25 years, Turn Your Campus has trained nearly 26,000 young leaders from schools all over Southern California. Students will learn how to share Jesus with their friends, while youth workers will be coached in mentoring their students and leading stronger lives for Jesus Christ. Educators will receive invaluable help in navigating the public school environment in a sensitive and Christ-honoring way.
YFC chapters impact thousands of communities across the nation, seeking out and serving youth from all walks of life. Young people are silently struggling through a wide variety of challenging issues—and through the YFC ministry God empowers, they see the living power of a loving God. YFC trains its leaders in a proven, relational ministry model called 3Story®, which encourages staff and volunteers to be good news while also sharing the stories of the Good News of Jesus. It involves building relationships through the ups and downs of everyday life to lead people to Christ.
YFC has been a pillar of missional ministry since 1944, when the Rev. Billy Graham served as YFC’s first full-time staff member. Since then, Youth For Christ has continued to be both a rural and urban ministry on mission, and it is always about the message of Jesus. YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement. Youth For Christ operates in over 100 nations and has over 130 chapters that impact communities across America.
