Alex McFarlandMinistries’ Viral Truth Clubs equip Christian teens to defend their faith and share the love of Christ
GREENSBORO, N.C. — A recent report revealed that despite being more connected than any other generation, Generation Z is less open-minded and more intolerant than older generations. According to the study, Gen Z is more likely to believe that people should be “canceled” for their views and holds less acceptance of different opinions. A generation that is typically tolerant of alternative lifestyles and ideologies about sexuality and equality, Gen Z paradoxically has “very little tolerance for people with beliefs that they disagree with,” according to one analyst.
For Christians, this poses a unique question — how are Christians supposed to reach Generation Z if they are unwilling to listen?
Renowned speaker, author, and apologist Alex McFarland commented, “Generation Z has been afforded a ton of luxuries their ancestors could only imagine, but it comes with a cost. The cynical, judgmental nature of today’s world has made Gen Z difficult to reach. Any attempts to speak truth could result in you being rapidly ‘canceled’ and deemed ‘politically incorrect.’
“This doesn’t mean that we should stop sharing the Gospel — we just need new avenues to share the love of Christ. The reality is that you cannot ‘cancel’ the truth of the Gospel. That’s why Alex McFarland Ministries hosts Viral Truth Campus Clubs all across the country, equipping Christian teens with the tools necessary to share the Gospel with their peers in a way that is inviting and understandable.”
McFarland continued, “Our Viral Truth Campus Clubs offer the opportunity for Christian students to facilitate discussions about the tough topics that they are facing today. Within a group setting with others their age who might need to hear the truth of the Gospel, the goal is to understand what God’s Word has to say about all aspects of our world. These issues are discussed from a biblical perspective.”
The Viral Truth Campus Clubs are characterized by these qualities:
Relational — Friends and peers invite friends and peers, especially those farthest from Christ, under the teaching of God’s Word.
Respectful — Any topic and viewpoint can be presented during the discussion, but club leaders will always model an orderly, courteous demeanor, even though standing consistently for the biblical position.
Relevant — Many issues are of vital importance in the modern world. Fortunately, God’s Word speaks to all of them, either directly or indirectly. Part of the appeal of Viral Truth Campus Clubs is that people can get a synopsis of personal and cultural issues from a biblical perspective.
Real — Christianity is objectively true, and believers have evidence for what they believe. The biblical worldview is not mere opinion.
“Alex McFarland Ministries comes alongside middle school, high school, and college student leaders to provide mentorship and coaching to equip teens to reach their friends with the Gospel message and with truth to combat the ‘woke’ agendas of human secularism, socialism and moral relativism. Our Viral Truth Campus Clubs will bring the Gospel to the students, helping them regain their respect for our nation and teaching them what is true and trustworthy,” McFarland stated.
