Over 20,000 Americans in Orlando to Stand in Pro-Life Solidarity on November 1st.

September 8, 2020

ORLANDO, Fla. — Timothy Partners, LTD, sponsor of Timothy Plan, a family of biblically responsible mutual funds and ETFs, which was founded in larger part in response to the loss of so many lives of the unborn, says there’s no better time to commit to participating in the 33rd annual “Life Chain” event. Timothy Partners’ employees, investors, advisors, friends and family will help to make Orlando one of the 2,000 American and Canadian cities involved in one of the largest pro-life events in North America.

As a peaceful protest honoring the millions of American and Canadian babies who have been killed by abortion, Life Chain dates back to 1987 and attracts tens of thousands of pro-lifers each year. Unbroken by the coronavirus pandemic this year, the socially distanced human “Life Chain” will take place on November 1.

The Orlando portion of the 2020 Life Chain will be organized in part by Timothy Plan Founder and President Art Ally and his Chief Marketing Officer and daughter, Cheryl Mumbert.

Prior to his involvement in Life Chain, Mr. Ally’s pro-life activities date back to the 1980s. Because of his passion to help save the unborn, he served as Chairman of Central Florida’s first three Life Chain events (1991-9,000 participants; 1992-10,000 participants; and in 1993-15,000 participants.)

Thirty years later, it has become a family affair, and Mr. Ally and Mrs. Mumbert say the Bible leaves no room to doubt the importance of defending human life from the point of conception.

“The Bible is clear that life begins not just at birth,” Mr. Ally said. “God knew us before we were born. Our births were not accidental but rather intentional acts of God with His purpose for us to realize on the earth.”

This week, Mr. Ally co-hosted a lunch that drew 50 pastors who made a preliminary commitment of between 2,500 and 5,000 Life Chain participants from their congregations. The goal for 2020 is 20,000 Life Chain “links” — individuals willing to stand in support of the unborn — in Orlando alone.

Mrs. Mumbert understands that the growing number of participants in Life Chain is an indicator that Christians want their internal biblical beliefs to become their external voice in everything from social policy to personal financial decisions.

“It’s exciting to see so many local churches are encouraging their members to take the church beyond its four walls,” said Mrs. Mumbert. “Our faith should impact every aspect of our lives, and that should create an image that delivers hope and inspiration to other Christians and non-Christians alike. I can think of no more meaningful imagery than when tens of thousands of Americans stand in unity for the sanctity of life on November 1.”

Other local leaders who are part of the steering committee helping to organize this event include: Bob & Diane Miller, Owners, R. Miller Architecture, Inc.; Dexter Sanders, Pastor, Liberty Church Orlando; Bruce Cherry, Media Strategist, Salem Radio Orlando; Vicky Matthews, Director, Choices Women’s Clinic; Andrea Krazeise, Director, The Pregnancy Center of Sanford; John Stemberger, Florida Family Policy Council, Chris Yates, Florida Family Policy Council ; Mike Gilland, Host, 1270AM The Shepherd; Stephen Strang, President, Charisma Media; Belinda Ford, Director, Fiona Jackson Pregnancy Center; Brad Bright, CRU; George Cope, Pastor, Vision Orlando.

Life Chain organizers say the event provides Christians a vehicle to take their beliefs from the sanctuary to the streets.

“Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness with pro-life individuals standing for 90 minutes praying for our nation to end abortion,” LifeChain.org states. “It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death.”

“Since 1994, Timothy Plan has been committed to not invest a single penny into any company that violates our eight biblical filters, one of which is an extensive abortion filter.” Mr. Ally said. “Timothy Plan’s mission is to enable the faithful to invest with a clear conscience. Therefore, our filters take into account the issues that should be paramount for Christians when it comes to investing. These include life, purity, family, marriage, liberty, sobriety, longevity and stewardship.”

The first of its kind, Timothy Plan is a family of mutual funds and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) that filters its portfolios to ensure that no money is invested in companies that support policies and procedures that are contrary to their biblical, moral imperative. In 2019, Timothy Plan celebrated 25 years as founders of the concept of   helping Christians achieve their financial goals while investing in a biblically and morally responsible manner.
