Albert Mohler Among Many Who Help ‘The God Who Speaks’ Shine a Light on Truth of the Bible
New American Family Association Film, Featuring the Most Respected Biblical Scholars, Helps Christians Rest Assured in Bible’s Authority
TUPELO, Miss.—“The Briefing,” Albert Mohler’s daily commentary on the nation’s most relevant headlines, helps Christians to view the world through the lens of the Bible.
It’s for this reason that filmmakers for the new feature-length movie, “The God Who Speaks” from American Family Studios, tapped Mohler as one of the contributors for the project. In fact, Mohler’s recent foray into the issue of truth via “The Briefing” has applications every Christian must consider.
For example, earlier this month, Mohler delved into a new major scientific study that found that lies spread faster than the truth. Mohler reminded listeners of this quote by Mark Twain: “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”
But why? Why are lies so much more popular than the truth? We shouldn’t be surprised, Mohler says: “We understand the pervasive power of a lie in a fallen world. The truth is, that we as human beings actually love lies. Paul in Romans Chapter 1, describing the most foundational human sin, says that we as human creatures have exchanged the truth of God for a lie.” This is the very first sin that Adam and Eve committed, Mohler continued, of which we are all guilty—exchanging the truth of God for a lie.
A division of the American Family Association (AFA), American Family Studios explores the truth and authority of the Bible in the powerful 90-minute documentary, “The God Who Speaks.” Available now on DVD and digital rental, the movie features Mohler as a contributor, as well as some of the world’s most respected biblical scholars.
The film’s director, M.D. Perkins, says the movie explores the evidence of the Bible’s inspiration and authority, as well as these facts and questions, among many others:
- What is meant by the authority of Scripture?
- Is there an authority over Scripture that establishes its authority?
- Are the Scriptures clear in what they teach?
- How the Church is tempted to drift from Scriptural authority
- Defenses for the Scripture and the basics of interpretation
- Why the Scriptures are essential in revealing God
Since its Feb. 1 debut, the film has been enabling thousands of Christians to better defend their faith, talk to skeptics about the truth of the Bible and rest assured in the authority of God’s Word.
