American Family Association: Stand with President Trump as He Stands for the Wall

Tragic Murder of California Police Officer Is Evidence of Need for Strong Border Security to Protect America’s Civil Servants and Families

TUPELO, Miss.—The family of 33-year-old California police officer Cpl. Ronil Singh is, sadly, beginning 2019 without a husband, father and civil servant.

Singh was killed the day after Christmas, and the suspect is a Mexican illegal immigrant who has been charged with homicide; seven others have also been arrested.

This senseless tragedy is further evidence that America must stand with President Donald Trump’s strong push for a border wall, says the American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net).

AFA recently sent an Action Alert to its more than 1 million friends and supporters, urging them to contact members of Congress immediately regarding funding for the much-needed border wall, especially in light of an ongoing partial government shutdown and the tragic death of Cpl. Singh.

“President Trump has made huge steps forward on border security by keeping his promise to veto any budget that does not contain $5 billion or more to build a wall along our southern border,” said AFA President Tim Wildmon. “The president was elected largely on the basis of this promise, and he has kept his word. The burden now shifts to Congress, which is faced squarely with the decision to authorize funding for the wall. Senators and representatives need to hear from their constituents immediately. Things move very quickly in Washington—almost by the hour—so members of Congress need to hear from those who put them in office on this important matter. Let’s stand with our president as he stands for the wall.”
