Last Camp season: Over 57,000 coaches and athletes attended nearly 700 FCA Camps around the world

June 27, 2022

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The summer of 2022 is already proving to be an exciting period of renewal and refreshment for coaches and student-athletes alike as they head to Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.org) Camps across America and around the globe. For the thousands of individuals who are right now attending FCA Camps or who will be traveling there shortly, this experience promises to be a game changer, both athletically and spiritually.

Among the FCA offerings this summer are Team Camps, in which athletes of all ages grow stronger together as teams, both in their sport and in Jesus Christ.

“FCA’s Team Camps provide a unique and remarkable opportunity for teams to truly unite in sport, and more importantly, to grow in their faith and learn about the transforming power of Jesus Christ,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “What a blessing it is to witness thousands of FCA Team Camp participants strengthen not only their athletic skills, but also learn how to apply their faith in every part of their life — including their sport — together.”

FCA’s Team Camps are designed to impact both coaches and student-athletes for Christ through team competition. Coaches enroll their players as teams in this Camp — and not only do the teams grow in unity as a result, but the coaches benefit greatly as well as they guide, evaluate, and celebrate their teams’ abilities.

Year after year, FCA Team Camp participants have shared their reactions to this positive experience and what they’ve learned about life, faith, and sports in the process.

“I love FCA Team Camp!” one participant noted. “It is an incredible time to pour into coaches and athletes who work together throughout the year. It gives FCA an opportunity to reach the whole team, create a team bond, establish Jesus Christ as the center — and carry that out during the school year.”

Said another, “We went into FCA Camp calling ourselves a team, but we found out we really weren’t. The practices and time with our coaches and teammates helped us have more faith in each other and grow closer as a team.”

FCA’s numbers and impact are impressive. FCA welcomed 57,613 coaches and athletes to its programs in the summer of 2021. These coaches and athletes attended 697 Camps all around the world.

FCA Camps allow coaches and athletes to experience an exciting, inspiring, and healthy environment in which they can pursue their passion for sport — while also clearly seeing Christ’s passion for them. Six different types of FCA Camps provide competitors with the chance to reach their potential through athletic, spiritual, and leadership training: Sports Camps (multi-sport and sport-specific camps); Leadership Camps (developing coaches and athletes to be leaders); Coaches Camps (designed to minister, equip, and encourage); Team Camps (allowing student-athletes to come together to compete); Power Camps (typically for athletes 8-12 years of age); and Partnership Camps (FCA partners with some of the best organizations).

Several Camps have already begun this year, while hundreds are set for June, July, and August. For more information about FCA Camps, click here.

FCA’s theme for 2022 is Every, based on Ephesians 1:3: “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” FCAreminds Christian coaches and athletes that they already have everything they need in Christ and encourages them to seek Him both on and off the field.
