Tax Reform Was the Best Christmas Gift Congress and President Trump Could Give

Dan Celia: Tax Bill Will Impact Both Corporations and American Families; Opportunity Ripe for Industrial Revolution

PHILADELPHIA—The U.S. Senate voted along party lines around 1 a.m. Wednesday to pass the long-awaited and historic tax bill, followed by the same action today by the House. Now, President Donald Trump is expected to sign off soon on the tax reform measure that he campaigned on and championed.

Nationally syndicated host and biblical stewardship authority Dan Celia says the passage of tax reform was the best Christmas gift Congress and the president could have given to Americans. Likewise, the negative storyline being told by Democrats and liberals, Celia said, could be the biggest miscalculation in history. In actuality, he added, tax reform could have a positive impact on Republicans for generation.

“Now, even though Americans won’t see the effects on their tax returns until next year, the results will be felt immediately,” Celia said. “First, we can expect to see a major bump in the markets through the end of the year. We’ve already seen positive influences solely based on the possibility of tax reform, such as numerous Dow records, higher consumer confidence and a strong holiday shopping season. Additionally, business owners, both large and small, will feel confident in growing their companies, hiring more workers and raising wages right away.

“In the coming months,” Celia continued, “aspects of the bill will have a real and tangible impact on Americans’ bank accounts, such as a higher standard deduction, higher child tax credits, lower tax brackets and the pullback of the penalties if Americans don’t purchase health insurance they may not want or need. This tax plan is not the end but the beginning of an economic revitalization, with opportunity for an industrial revolution the likes of which the country has not seen since the ’50s and ’60s.”

Celia leads Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries (FISM, www.financialissues.org) and focuses on economic news and biblical investing during his daily, three-hour show, “Financial Issues,” which airs on about 640 radio stations around the country and is also seen nationwide on NRBTV, reaching 45 million households.
