Where’s the Bill?

Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom Says Lawmakers Must Not Waffle on Their Promises, as They Now Soften Language and Claim Obamacare Will Be ‘Repaired’ Rather Than Repealed

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Has “repeal and replace” suddenly become “repair and retain”?

Business Insider recently reported that GOP lawmakers seem to be softening their once-strong language on repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act, which has made health care very unaffordable for many Americans, says Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF, www.cchfreedom.org).

Others in Washington are stating that Obamacare repeal is progressing, but toward spring, according to The Hill. President Donald Trump told Fox News that “maybe it’ll take till sometime into next year” to put forward a replacement plan, calling the process “very complicated,” The Hill also reported.

That leaves one big question for CCHF, a national health freedom and patient advocacy organization, and others who have been calling for the timely and full repeal of Obamacare.

Where’s the bill?

“Where is the bill that was supposed to be on the President’s desk by February 20?” asks CCHF president and co-founder Twila Brase. “Americans were told well before Inauguration Day that a repeal bill would be presented to President Trump by next week, yet we have not heard details of the bill, nor does it seem as though the bill is progressing as it should. The American people deserve to have this law taken off the books for good, as the president promised on the campaign trail and in his first few days in office.

Brase added that legislators should not allow the law to see its seventh anniversary. The Affordable Care Act was signed into law on March 23, 2010, by President Barack Obama.

“We support Senator Mike Lee’s call for a full repeal without waiting for a replacement,” Brase added. “Congress’ current discussions about ‘repeal and replace’ mostly tinker with the chairs on the Titanic—and time is of the essence. The word we should focus on is ‘reclaim.’ We must reclaim health freedom in America by repealing every word of Obamacare.”

CCHF is urging those concerned with the lag in an Obamacare repeal to contact their U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators on Wednesday, Feb. 15 by calling the U.S. Capitol switchboard number at (202) 224-3121. Those who call can report back to CCHF at info@cchfreedom.org.

Brase talks frequently about the repeal of Obamacare during CCHF’s daily, 60-second Health Freedom Minute radio feature. Heard on nearly 800 stations nationwide, including on the American Family Radio Network, Bott Radio Network, CSN Radio and VCY America, Health Freedom Minute helps listeners learn more about the agenda behind health care initiatives, as well as steps they can take to protect their health care choices, rights and privacy. The one-minute program is free for stations to run; for details, contact Michael Hamilton at mhamilton@hamiltonstrategies.com or (610) 584-1096 or (215) 519-4838.
