Will the Antichrist Control Through Technology?

Author Pastor Mark Biltz Points to Russian Church leader Who Says It’s Possible; Biltz’s New Book, ‘Decoding the Antichrist and the End Times,’ to be Released March 5

TACOMA, Wash.—Many around the world are “slaves” to their technological devices and can’t imagine being without their smartphones, social media accounts or other voice-activated advances and location tools they think make life easier or help them connect.

Are these technologies preceding the arrival of the Antichrist?

Author and minister Mark Biltz takes an in-depth look at some of the deepest questions surrounding the Antichrist in his soon-to-be-released book, “Decoding the Antichrist and the End Times: What the Bible Says and What the Future Holds.” A central theme of the book is the role of technology in our future, and even whether the Antichrist will have an artificial intelligence element.

“Humanity is desperately seeking someone with a strong hand to take the helm and bring about world peace,” Biltz writes in “Decoding the Antichrist.” “Some look for a strong leader who has the ability to compromise and appease every faction to stop all the madness. But what character traits are truly needed to navigate the strong currents of public opinion that shape the world we live in?”

Biltz continues that we now live in an era where, for the first time, we have the possibility of an AI antichrist, a human-computer hybrid that will demand to be worshipped.

He points to a recent interview of Patriarch Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, who said humans’ dependence on modern technology could result in the coming of the Antichrist, according to The Moscow Times. Kirill warned against “falling into slavery” to smartphones and said the collection of user data including “location, interests and fears” will make it possible for humans to be controlled by external forces.

“Control from a single point is a harbinger of the coming of the Antichrist,” Kirill told a Russian TV network. “The Antichrist is a personality that will be at the head of the world wide web controlling the entire human race. Thus, the structure itself presents a danger.”

Likewise, “Have you ever wondered if it’s OK to have Alexa, Siri, and other forms of AI in your home?” Biltz asks. “We know that the Bible says great deception is coming, so what is a concerned believer to do? Life and history go through continually repeating cycles just as our seasons do. Because humanity is basically the same, these cycles repeat themselves with different characters and scenes. We can learn a lot about the end times when we understand these cycles, and it’s critical to understand the modus operandi of the Antichrist so you won’t be deceived.”

“Decoding the Antichrist and the End Times” asks and seeks to answer the following questions:

“I believe we are truly entering the final chapter on this world’s stage, and the curtain will soon be coming down or rolled away,” Biltz says. “I am not claiming to know how many pages are left in God’s script, but those who have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit of God is saying know it is time to start packing your bags, spiritually speaking. It’s time to listen for the sound of the shofar!”

Mark Biltz is founder of El Shaddai Ministries and a well-known and popular commentator on the feasts of the Lord. In fact, he has produced a series of DVDs on the feasts that have gone around the world. Biltz is also the author of “Blood Moons” and “God’s Day Timer.” His research and theories have led to guest appearances on both radio and television as well as being featured on the covers of magazines.

“Decoding the Antichrist and the End Times,” set for release March 5, is published by Charisma House, which has published books that challenge, encourage, teach and equip Christians, including 14 New York Times bestsellers.
